Our services

Enterprise web applications

Web-based management systems based on the Java platform. Our current stack of choice includes a backend based on the Spring Boot framework, which is used to serve APIs for an Angular frontend. Webgis capabilities based on OGC standards are also common in our projects. We have used these technologies for a wide variety of domains and use cases, ranging from mission-critical public applications accessible from the public web, to small applications used to configure and command applications running on single-board computers.

Industrial and railway applications

We have extensive experience in industrial projects related to various domains. Railway is one of the domains we know best. Among others, recent services include the development of a system for driverless light-rail vehicles, and an embedded application for the protection of rail crossings.

Mobile

Apps for the Google Android and Apple iOS platforms. We usually develop mobile applications as companion apps for web-based enterprise management systems. We are currently supporting a primary provider of fuel-pump solutions to bring the UI of their systems to mobile. This also involves the knowledge and experience to distribute the application using channels alternative to public stores.

Multi-touch-based applications

Desktop applications based on the .NET and WPF platform. We created points of presence to manage alerts in airport control rooms, museum kiosks with interactive multi-touch animations, and other applications where usability and quick interaction are key features.

V&V activities

We have been involved in the Verification and Validation of software subject to System Integrity Level (SIL) requirements for the railway domain. We are familiar with the Cenelec EN50129 standard, and have extensive experience in activities such as static analysis, unit testing and code-coverage testing.

Video and image analysis

Automatic analysis of image and video content has been one of our key services since the early days of the company. We designed and developed many systems with applications in video surveillance, digital video recording, video management, object detection and recognition, and quality inspection. Recently we have been involved in several projects where these technologies have been deployed on edge devices.

Magenta was established in 2007 as a software company based in Florence, Italy; the company grows on a solid base of competence and experience that the founders acquired during several years of activity both in the industrial and in the academic context.

Our core activity is to work together with other companies from various sectors to provide them consult on the most appropriate and innovative IT technologies for the application at hand.
